License Plate Readers (LPRs) to Enhance Public Safety and Support Criminal Investigations

The goal is to purchase and implement License Plate Readers (LPRs) to enhance public safety and support criminal investigations.

Currently Burlington and Des Moines County Law Enforcement Officers investigate crimes including theft of a motor vehicle, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and many other serious offenses. During the course of investigation, officers face challenges identifying vehicles associated with criminal activity.

Through the use of LPRs, officers and investigators will have enhanced situational awareness and crime-solving capabilities not currently available.
