Goals of the Project: Lower the recidivism rate amongst the youth that participate in the program. Preventive Juvenile Diversion, Victims advocacy, and neighborhood watch /Crime Prevention.
To continue to make this program a success, we need to further develop partnerships with parents and the school district to encourage them to support/participate in the program. This will be a challenge given realities of the pandemic. Through working with the school district, the program is able to monitor student attendance rates, class performance and behavior. We will also continue to promote YAB to Covina residents who want to contribute their time and energy as board members for the benefit of our youth.
