Delray Beach Police Department Holiday Robbery and Burglary Task Force

In order to support the Department’s operational plan for the Holiday Robbery and Burglary Task Force, we are requesting funding for the cost of overtime for officers who will be deployed in the targeted areas. These officers will work to provide crime prevention through high visibility patrols and community policing strategies. The goal of the project is to reduce crime and the risk of victimization as well as to make citizens and visitors feel more secure. If a crime should occur, officers are on site and available to intervene. Based on prior years, we anticipate the program will cost approximately $30,000 in overtime and FICA. We are requesting the full allocation of $31,034 to support this program.
