The Pittsburg Police Department proposes to upgrade the Pittsburg Police Department Crisis Negotiation Teams equipment. The purpose is to upgrade outdated and failing crisis negotiation equipment with up-to-date technology. Modern communication systems are essential for improving communication, safety, and overall operational effectiveness to resolve critical incidents. Project activities include updating the headsets, control and recording devices, and communication devices within the command post to provide up-to-date technology to assist in resolving crisis situations. In noisy or chaotic environments, technology advancements can help negotiators hear and communicate clearly, greatly reducing the risks of misunderstandings that could escalate the crisis. These upgrades not only improve the effectiveness of the crisis negotiation teams but also enhance the safety of both the first responders and citizens involved in the crisis, enabling more controlled, informed and agile responses.
