Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $49,880)

Lexington County greatly appreciates the Local JAG allocations that we have received through the years to help fund multiple projects throughout the County.  This year the County plans to split its funding between two county departments and an outside non-profit agency.  The Magistrate's Office has focused on improving automation by incorporating technology to enhance its offices and courtrooms.  With the 2024 JAG funds, they wish to purchase one (1) Distribution Amplifier, one (1) 27" monitor, one (1) 75" monitor, and four (4) iPads with cases.  The Sheriff's Department is requesting to purchase five (5) In-Car 800 MHz Radios with accessories.  Sistercare is a local, non-profit organization that provides counseling services to women and their children free of charge.  These individuals may receive referrals for service from both the Magistrate Judges and Sheriff's Department Deputies.  The County allocates funding for Sistercare to use to counsel battered women and their children within the County, in hopes to break the intergenerational cycle of domestic violence in the County.
