Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $50,725)
As approved by York County, the disparate jurisdictions of the City of York and York Township will use JAG funds for technology improvements and equipment. Specifically, the City of York will use JAG funds to purchase Berla iVe Training and pay for an annual subscription for Berla iVe. This five-day course is a complete indoctrination into vehicle forensics investigations. In addition, the City of York will use JAG funds to purchase the Berla iVe Toolkit, a collection of specifically developed interface boards and cables used to acquire various supported vehicle systems. The toolkit includes tools to help remove the systems from a vehicle when required. The interface boards and cables are used with the iVe software to acquire the data. Lastly, the City of York will purchase Accurint Trax, an investigative solutions suite.
York Township will use JAG funds to assist in the computer migration of two different records management systems (RMS) into one unified system for the York Township Police Department. This will allow all department employees to search, catalog, input, and retrieve data without utilizing two different logins and platforms.
