JAG FY 2024

The City of Pomona Police Department’s proposed FY 2024 JAG Program funding request expenditure plan allocates all JAG funds received to address specific gang, crime and human trafficking problems in community neighborhoods City-wide through enhanced specialized law enforcement activities and deployments conducted with existing personnel on an overtime compensation basis. 

 All other remaining program costs shall be provided by the City of Pomona.  The City of Pomona will not be using any portion of the FY 2024 JAG Program award for costs associated with administering JAG funds.

The City of Pomona considers this funding proposal to be practical, flexible and cost effective.  As proposed, this project will utilize community input and crime analysis to focus police resources on specifically identified gang activities and area neighborhoods within the City.  By conducting special details and operations based on data-driven crime analysis, gang intelligence and input from the affected community, the Police Department will be able to minimize personnel cost while improving program productivity and desired outcomes.  Additionally, the overall cost effectiveness and impact on the City of Pomona’s gang problems and human trafficking/prostitution will be expanded with the on-going assistance and participation of neighboring law enforcement agencies, local County Probation and Parole personnel that are currently headquartered at the Pomona Police Department, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  The Pomona Police Department has a well established and effective working relationship with these assisting agencies that will be of tremendous benefit to this project.
