The City of Lawton, (Lawton Police Department) will use funding from the Department of Justice to address critical equipment needs to enhance safety measure for Patrol Officers and SWAT Team members. As local , county and state agencies face growing challenges related to crime, public safety, and emerging threats, the need for modern, reliable equipment has become increasingly urgent. Many jurisdictions, particularly those with limited budgets or resource disparities, struggle to acquire and maintain the tools necessary for effective policing, investigation, and public safety response.
This grant will support the acquisition of advance communication systems, protective equipment, through the purchase of SWAT communication helmets and ballistic shields for patrol officers, ensuring that LPD officers are equipped to respond swiftly and effectively to both routine and high-stakes situations. By equipping officers and deputies, we aim to improve collaboration, reduce operational gaps, and enhance overall public safety outcomes.
The disparate jurisdiction of the Comanche County Sheriff's Department, will use JAG funds for the purchase of computer equipment, CID processing equipment, trauma kit equipment and training ammunition All of which are necessary for effective policing and public safety.
The proposed funding will directly benefit agencies that serve diverse populations, ensuring equitable access to essential law enforcement resources and fostering stronger, safer communities through coordinated action.
