2024 JAG Grant for the City of Wilmington and New Hanover County

The applicant is the City of Wilmington, NC in partnership with the New Hanover County as part of a disparate jurisdiction application.  The goal of this grant is to replace the existing boatlift  including pilings as well as wiring for the Wilmington Police Department.  This equipment will allow the department to quickly and safely launch the Safeboat for resuce and patrol operations.  An additional goal of this grant is to purchase a Portable Camera System with tripod, Hitch Mount and Modem for use by New Hanover County.  This equipment will provide the County's Intel Unit situational awareness as a force multiplier by enhancing the capability for current surveillance of large crowds at social, political, religious and emergency events.
