Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $67,065)
JAG funds will be used to enhance each agency's ability to provide efficient public safety services to our community and decrease crime. In addition, we hope to improve the efficiency of each agency by providing officers with equipment that enhances their effectiveness, recruit and retain a diverse workforce, and improve prosecution of offenders.
Missoula County, by maintaining the property clerk position, will continue to provide enhanced community service to victims of crimes, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies. This is a continuation of a program that has been funded from previous JAG grants.
The city of Missoula will continue licenses for warrant software to improve efficiency for officers, judiciary personnel, as well as prosecutors The Secure Warrant program has been funded by JAG funds since its inception. No local funds are available to continue to maintain the licenses for this software program.
Purchase subscription for training, FTO and quartermaster program to enhance the department’s efficiency and ability to maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
Continue program for recruitment and hiring of inclusive and diverse employees. Managing background checks for law enforcement officers, conducting community outreach for input in recruitment of officers to ensure a diverse and accountable law enforcement workforce.
