Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $68,990)

The County of Chesterfield Commonwealth's Attorney's Office will use JAG funds to develop and implement a comprehensive training program for prosecutors and victim advocates that focuses on justice

reform, well-being, and effective prosecution in specialized courts such as drug courts, domestic violence courts, juvenile and family courts, adult mental health courts, and veteran's treatment courts. The program will

enhance prosecutors' understanding of therapeutic jurisprudence, reduce burnout, and improve overall outcomes for defendants, victims, and the community. Through this initiative, we seek to transform the

prosecutorial approach to prioritize rehabilitation and mental health, while promoting well-being among our legal professionals.
