The disparate jurisdictions of Ogden City and Weber County will use JAG funds for technology maintenance and equipment. Specifically, Weber County will use JAG funds to maintain a Virtra Training Simulator which improves their de-escalation techniques, and their ALPR Camera System maintenance used to identify criminals and reduce criminal activity. Ogden City will use JAG funds to maintain its ALPR Camera program used to identify criminals, reduce criminal activity, and protect Ogden citizens. The police department has integrated 32 ALPR cameras in the central portions of Ogden City and an additional eight ALPRs are being utilized in the Business District Ogden (BDO) industrial area. The ALPRs are averaging more than 3.2 million reads a month which include wanted persons, stolen vehicles and plates, missing persons, arrest warrants and federal fugitives, and suspected terrorists.
