2024 Rapid City Police Department JAG Application

The Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office are applying jointly for the FY 2024 JAG Grant. As regional support for investigations and evidence collection, both agencies require upgraded digital forensic storage systems and equipment for obtaining and managing digital evidence. The total funding request for 2024 is $104,625. This grant funding will be used to modernize outdated technology that currently necessitates time-consuming back-end work and poses risks of data corruption, potentially compromising evidentiary processes. The new equipment and digital storage will enhance the agencies' capabilities, increase operational capacity, and support other criminal justice components in the region.
