The disparate jurisdictions of Dayton, and Montgomery County, will use 2024 JAG funds for equipment and technology upgrades. More specifically, the City of Dayton (City), Dayton Police Department (DPD), will use JAG funds to expand its public safety camera network. Montgomery County will use its JAG funds for the continuous improvement, maintenance, and accessibility of their JusticeWeb Criminal Justice Information System, which provides access to over 4,175 users within 193 agencies, providing crucial data in the form of: Jail booking information (warrants, parole, incarceration, field interviews,) mugshots, court case information, criminal histories, neighborhood criminal histories, dispatch records, law enforcement data, dog licenses, and death records, and probation, among a multitude of other applications.
