Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $181,670)

Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff will use JAG funds to assist with filling Patrol overtime shifts to increase engagement with community members and building partnerships with community organizations to develop a shared vision and approach to addressing crime.

City of Antioch will have two (2) programs.  Law Enforcement and Prevention & Education Programs.  The City will retain one (1) part-time Volunteer Coordinator.  This position will oversee and manage approximately 40 Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) who provide services in the area of patrol.  REACH Project (a non-profit agency) to administer and manage the Yourth For Positive Change (YFPC), a program targeting multiple offender juveniles with attention towards juvenile violence intervention.

City of Concord will sponsor two (2) trainees in the Police Academy which will aid in the development and retention of new officers.  Moreover, this will enable the department to bolster first-responder services to the community, enhance various law enforcement programs, and support efforts to attract and retain an all-inclusive and accountable law enforcement workforce.

City of Richmond will purchase safety equipment such as ballistic body worn armor, carrier vests, ballistic shields and Mobile Data Computers (MDCs) for their patrol cars.
