Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $212,700)

The City of Buffalo will use JAG funds for extra police patrols at select large-scale events to protect attendees from terroristic threats and/or gun violence.  Erie County will use funding for partial support of an Assistant District Attorney for juvenile justice prosecution and a Software Security Programmer/Consultant contract for Central Police Services to continue standardizing security processes. The Town of Amherst will purchase technology upgrades for police vehicles to enhance communication. The Town of Cheektowaga will provide extra police patrols in hot spot areas to reduce crime, improve public safety, and support community engagement.
