The disparate jurisdictions of the City of Little Rock and Pulaski County will use JAG funds to support improvements to the delivery of law enforcement services within their respective jurisdictions. Specifically, the City of Little Rock priorities for the FY2024 JAG funds include: upgrading technology for investigative units and the Real Time Crime Center, purchasing equipment to expand the Special Response Unit’s Bicycle Unit, acquiring protective ballistic vests for officers, purchasing duty pistol training ammunition to conducted required qualifications, replacing non-functional aging physical fitness equipment, attendance at Community Engagement Training, providing command staff with executive-level professional development, sending school resource officers to National Mentorship Training, and ensuring the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team receives critical training and certifications. Pulaski County intends to use their portion of the FY2024 JAG funds to partially cover the annual salary of a Victim’s Services Coordinator. The focus of both organizations is to utilize funds to improve the quality and effectiveness of law enforcement services in order to lessen the impact of crime on members of the public in their respective jurisdictions.
