Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $477,854)

The disparate jurisdictions of Franklin County, OH, and the cities of Columbus, Reynoldsburg, and Whitehall will use FY2024 JAG funding to support a range of justice initiatives.  The Franklin County Sheriff's Office will utilize JAG funding to continue support of a dedicated Drug Intelligence Analyst working with the HOPE Drug Taskforce and overtime for officers deployed to work with the Internet Crimes Against Children initiative.  Franklin County will also utilize funds to continue robust reentry supports offered through the Rapid Resource Center locations at both local jails and the Tap In Center, a multi-agency collaborative that provides an alternative option for addressing and resolving outstanding low-level, non-violent misdemeanor warrants.  The city of Columbus will dedicate FY2024 JAG funding to support the development and operations of a Real Time Crime Center and offer wrap-around services to defendants ages 18 to 23 participating in their Emerging Adults Specialty Docket.  The city of Whitehall will continue to support its Youth Violence Crime Reduction initiative, and the city of Reynoldsburg will allocate its FY2024 JAG funding to offset officer overtime dedicated to engagement and patrol during large public gatherings.  Lastly, funding will help to support training and conference attendance by local justice partner personnel.
