Broward County recognizes to combat public safety challenges and other emerging issues facing communities who are most impacted by crime requires a multipronged approach. The allocation of local grant funding is key to addressing these critical needs of the residents of Broward County. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office and 17 municipalities have their own strategies for strengthening public safety that is tailored for the communities they serve. The 2024 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant project offers a chance for a collaborative effort across the county to implement these practical prevention and intervention steps to help law enforcement be more effective in reducing crime and building better relationships within the community.
