Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $608,615)
The disparate jurisdictions of Kansas City, Jackson County, City of Grandiew, City of Independance, and City of Raytown will use JAG funds for anti-violence program personnel and safety-related equipment. Specifically, the City of Kansas City wil use JAG funds to fund a JAG Grant Coordinator personnel and three anti-violence programs: SAVE KC, Second Chance Risk Reduction Center, and the Adopt-A-Street Program. The county of Jackson County will use JAG funds for a portion of Data & Information Analyst, an Assistant Prosecutor/Diversion Manager, and two Assistant Prosecutors salaries. The City of Grandiew will use JAG funds to purchase equipment that will enhance officer safety, officer mental / physical well-being and upgrade technology, the City of Independence will use 2024 JAG funding to update some aging law enforcement equipment within the department, and the City of Raytown will use JAG funds to procure light weight, rifle rated stand alone ballistic plates.
