The Central Brooklyn Violence Intervention Collaborative will provide technical assistance, capacity building and workforce development services to a core team of community violence intervention agencies operating in Central Brooklyn, NY. A key focus of these efforts is to position CVI teams as a pillar of public safety and public health in their communities and to better integrate their teams with the existing infrastructure of public safety, healthcare, housing, and social service providers. In working towards the goal of reducing gun violence in central Brooklyn, the key objectives of the Collaborative will be to: 1) enhance strategic planning and purposeful collaboration among CVI teams themselves and with key public safety stakeholders; 2) build a culture of continuous workforce development opportunities to strengthen the teams at all levels; 3) increase CVI capacity to navigate and partner with local health, mental health, substance use, housing, education and other social service providers; 4) improve client needs assessments and case management infrastructure; and 5) develop standardized data collection and sharing protocols.
