The primary service area is the City and County of San Francisco and its neighboring counties of San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, and Contra Costa. Expected outcomes include a reduction in carjacking in San Francisco and a reduction in the use of carjacking vehicles in organized crime. The intended beneficiaries are the 11 officers assigned to RTIC,13 crime analysts assigned to the Crime Analysis Unit, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, the United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California, and the constituent communities of the Bay Area that the RTIC protects.
