Rosebud Sioux Tribe Healing to Wellness Court Expansion

Rosebud Sioux Tribe’s program will enhance the Rosebud Sioux Tribal Children’s Court by expanding the services and court operations. Specifically, the program will increase the referral points from which the Wellness Team can assist youth and their families to decrease recidivism and incarceration of youth with drug and alcohol addictions. Additionally, this program will increase the participation of youth in the Courts Community Service program, where youth will have opportunities to assist the tribal communities in projects that will benefit the tribe as a whole and the youth as tribal citizens. The Rosebud Sioux Tribal Children’s Court’s program will increase education on addictions and historical and generational trauma by developing a plan and implementing trainings and education sessions for tribal citizens and government.
