The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes Tribal Youth Program will develop and implement a new juvenile wrap around program for tribal youth ages 12-17 living in the tribal community to assist with educational expectations, minimize youth truancy, drop-out rates, delinquency, teen pregnancy, drug use, depression and suicide through prevention, intervention, and counseling to increase a youth’s leadership potential. The program will address the juvenile crime and public safety problems with a goal to reduce youth referral rates and prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency by hiring additional staff, conducting staff orientation/training, purchasing supplies and resources for client supportive services, developing a juvenile wrap around program with numerous partners, and implementing/operating the Wichita Tribal Youth Program over a 5-year timeframe.
