Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $499,854)

The goal of the Menominee Tribal Youth Program is to promote positive youth development through the continuation of a culturally responsive prevention program aimed at reducing high risk behavior for youth aged 17 and younger. Objectives include presenting a culturally based curriculum that demonstrates the impact of alcohol and drugs on their mind, body and spirit that will provide an opportunity for self-examination, education, and personal growth to heal from addiction and grief,  addressing youth at risk of out of home placement using in-home service planning including the Corrections Rehabilitation Institute Curriculum, and  collaborating with local agencies to implement annual culture camps to promote cultural identity and culturally based activities. Objectives also include implementing a Youth culture camp and Family Culture Camp; and providing quarterly community awareness events that promote alcohol and drug free lifestyles.
