Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $99,556)

The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma (SNO) will conduct a comprehensive strategic planning process for Tribal youth programs as part of the Seeding Change track. The leaders of SNO’s juvenile Tribal court report that there is a lack of integrated and trackable wraparound services for at-risk youth. Cohesive wraparound services are necessary as the youth who end up in the juvenile system or are at risk for it have had many adverse childhood experiences, usually coming from backgrounds of poverty, substance use, family instability, and violence. The goals of the planning process are to map out existing services and gaps, identify evidence-based interventions and training needs, create a trackable and consistent referral and monitoring system, and plan for streamlined collaboration between agencies.
