Lummi Youth Social Services Youth Leadership Project

The Lummi Nation Tribal Council created the Youth Social Services Department to coordinate Lummi Nation youth services. Last year the Council also created the Youth Social Services Work Group to create a Collaborative Youth Services Plan under the oversight of the Lummi Nation Youth Social Services Department. The purpose of the Work Group is to coordinate all Lummi Nation youth services, including the department’s youth programming with other Lummi programs that have either a primary or ancillary role in youth services. In addition to the motivation provided by the Work Group, Lummi Nation has been awarded a Strategic Prevention Framework Grant by SAMHSA and is engaged in developing a comprehensive youth prevention plan.
