2021 Children's Justice Act Partnerships for Indian Communities (CJA) Sault

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians requested funding to provide trauma-informed assessment and victim support services to child victims and their families involved in the Sault Tribe’s criminal justice system.  With this funding, Sault Ste. Marie Tribe will: 1) hire 2 full-time Project Coordinators for the Prosecution’s office; 2) obtain accreditation for the Sault Tribe Child Advocacy Center; 3) improve policies and procedures for the CAC; 4) Attend OVC training; and, 5) pay for supplies and operation costs.
