Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $450,000)

The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians requested funding to provide trauma-informed assessment and victim support services to child victims and their families involved in the Sault Tribe’s criminal justice system.  With this funding, Sault Ste. Marie Tribe will: 

Goal 1: To provide trauma-informed assessment and victim support services to the child victims and their families involved in the Sault Tribe’s criminal justice system.
Goal 2: Improve the CAC’s ability to fulfill its responsibility to reduce the trauma of the child victim by coordinating the provisions of support, advocacy, and other services needed by the child victim and their families.
Goal: 3 Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the CAC by establishing new policies and procedures/operations manual and updating existing ones.
Goal 4: Revise strategic plan and logic model.
Goal 5: Attend CTAS Technical Assistance training events
Goal 6: Obtain accreditation for the Sault Tribe Child Advocacy Center
