The American University (AU) will provide for the necessary personnel, material, and contractual resources necessary to support an existing joint BJA-SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) Planning Team (Team) which is focusing on the feasibility and design of a government-private sector initiative to address the mental health and substance abuse treatment needs of incarcerated offenders.
Through this National Training and Technical Assistance Project, AU will support up to two meetings of the approximately 20-member team, consisting of federal government and private sector professionals with the following logistical services: identification and rental of appropriate hotel-based meeting space, necessary audio-visual equipment, and catering services for up to two team meetings; and travel arrangements and travel expense reimbursement for up to 10 non-federal employee members or presenters at the team meetings. AU will also assist in developing agendas for team meetings; preparing background materials for the meetings; providing on-site support services at the meetings; facilitating services during the meeting; and reporting on the results of team meetings.
