Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $6,129,875)
The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) is providing ongoing training, research, and analysis activities related to the information systems of the six Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Intelligence Centers. IIR supports the RISS Program by providing: technical research, analysis, and support; collection, verification, and coordination of center activity data; policy development and management; administrative support services, technical training, and education; and, research and analysis of information systems public policy issues. IIR provides services to local and state law enforcement agencies to identify, target, and prosecute criminal conspirators involved in terrorism activity, drug trafficking, human trafficking, identity theft, organized criminal activity, criminal gangs, and violent crime. RISS also supports the investigation and prosecution efforts of local, state, federal, and tribal law enforcement member agencies across the nation.
