The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency is implementing a Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification (SAVIN) system. This system will provide Pennsylvania's victims of crimes with information on their offender's custody status twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The SAVIN system will connect all of the various participating agencies, allowing for exchange of vital information to ensure victims are informed of their offender's status.

SAVIN programs benefit the public by providing victims of crime with accurate and timely information about the status of their offender and court events related to their case. In this way, victims are able to fully participate in the judicial process, make sound decisions to protect themselves from further victimization, and make sure their rights are being upheld. This information-sharing capability is also available to courts, corrections, and law enforcement officials.

Pennsylvania's SAVIN system will use the Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM) and associated implementation guidelines.
