The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) will continue to deliver training classes, on-site technical assistance, and enhanced multimedia and Web-based technology to provide assistance in facilitating agency compliance with Criminal Intelligence Systems Operating Policies. With an increasing emphasis on privacy issues and intelligence sharing, law enforcement agencies are in need of standards under which to operate. IIR is providing critical guidance to agencies that will help them implement standards for operating criminal intelligence systems. They are providing training, technical assistance, and educational services that will support the formal recommendations outlined in the National Criminal Intelligence Sharing Plan, which recommends adoption of 28 CFR Part 23 as the standard for the operation of criminal intelligence systems.
