Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $66,466)
Colorado Legal Services will use this award to support and expand its Urban-Rural education project. Project activities include: strategizing with ESL (English-as-a-second-language) providers to integrate anti-discrimination into their curricula; working with Colorado Trust recipients to ensure that staff members and volunteers understand the issues and can make their communities more aware; exploring channels for reaching women in underserved immigrant groups; and, utilizing existing channels under the Archdiocese of Denver's Hispanic Ministries network to educate parishes. Grant funds will support costs associated with staff salaries and benefits, conference travel, and project supplies.
