Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $509,660)
The American Bar Association's Center on Children and the Law (ABA) will continue to provide support to closed-circuit television CCTV/videotape program jurisdictions funded through the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA). Since 1993, BJA has provided funding for states and localities to purchase closed-circuit television and/or videotape (CCTV) equipment to use in child sexual abuse cases. ABA provides jurisdictions with guidance from technology and strategic planning experts. ABA has developed a broad understanding of the elements of a successful CCTV/videotape program. ABA will continue to provide training and technical assistance to the CCTV grant recipients, as well as administer three additional grants.
