Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $100,000)

The National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) will ensure prosecutors have access to up-to-date and comprehensive information available to aid them in capital litigation. To achieve this goal, NDAA has developed and pilot-tested a training program that is designed to be administered at the state level. NDAA has also partnered with the National Association of Prosecutor Coordinators and the Association of Government Attorneys in Capital Litigation to provide comprehensive clearinghouse services to prosecutors nationwide. Specifically, NDAA will first develop and produce a vertical training module to complement the Capital Litigation Pilot Training Course. The module will provide in-depth training on knowledge and develop skills in critical litigation areas indigenous to capital cases. Secondly, the project will provide technical assistance to state and local prosecutors through the Capital Litigation Resource Center.
