Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $200,000)
The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) will continue to support the program entitled 'Communities Against Terrorism' (C.A.T.). The C.A.T. program is designed to help law enforcement agencies build community partnerships and to help citizens understand their role in preventing terrorism. The goal of the C.A.T. Program is to support the nation's state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies' efforts to engage their communities in preventing terrorism. IIR will continue to: research, identify, and develop C.A.T. multimedia materials; provide implementation guidelines and a community partnership presentation for law enforcement officers presenting the C.A.T. Program within their community; and, distribute C.A.T. multimedia materials to state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies. IIR will also develop and distribute resources detailing pre-incident terrorism indicators for distribution to local communities.
