Indian Country Tribal Law Enforcement Mentoring Program

The Mountain Chief Institute will provide professional mentorship to increase the capacity of Indian Country law enforcement programs in critical ways. The mentoring program will enable agencies to implement progressive policing strategies, to strengthen partnerships for safer communities, and to enhance law enforcement's capacity to prevent, solve and control crime. The project will: select two Indian Country law enforcement programs to participate in the mentoring program; develop a mentorship selection criteria and program description; create a web-based intranet site to facilitate management and monitoring of the program; and, develop a measuring tool to evaluate the mentorship program.
