Alzheimer's Association Safe Return Program

The Alzheimers Disease And Related Disorders Association (Alzheimer's Association) will support the Alzheimer's Association Safe Return®, an identification program that assists in the safe and timely return of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia and who wander and become lost. The project will continue to provide: family support; wandering and safety awareness; and, on-going education and training opportunities to law enforcement and other first responders as well as the general community. Through a coordinated effort with law enforcement, first responders, and local Alzheimer's Association chapters, the Alzheimer's Association will facilitate the safe return to home of individuals who wander. The project will increase awareness about the issues of wandering and safety faced by individuals with dementia.
