This technology will be commercialized and transition handgun safety into an electronic era. NJIT will develop an optimal disabling mechanism by considering performance, cost, power, the impact to gun construction, and marketability; design and implement the disabling mechanism; test prototype for performance, reliability, and user experience; and commercialization.
