Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $1,500,000)

The IJIS Institute will provide support intended to define and document the National Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Project Sharing Roadmap. They will address evaluation of policy, process, and technology service needs related to the standardized sharing of SAR information across the law enforcement, homeland security, and force protection disciplines and domains nationally. The IJIS Institute will deploy two temporary operational SAR sharing environments for the purpose of analyzing the value and methods of SAR sharing across the targeted domains. This analysis will be performed and documented in such a manner as to provide for policy, process, and technology lessons-learned, best practices, recommendations, and national rollout roadmap. Additionally, they will deploy a temporary, SAR Report sharing vehicle where currently produced Fusion Center reports can be submitted and where the sharing vehicle can query across unstructured data.
