The Georgia Tech Applied Research Corporation will provide engineering support for the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) and the Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM). The primary goal of NIEM and GJXDM is to establish a comprehensive consensus framework for information sharing within justice, public safety, and homeland security agencies at the federal, state, and local levels of government. The intent is to provide for secure exchange of information while respecting the privacy rights of citizens and the autonomy of external agencies and domains to implement information systems to meet their individual business needs.
