Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force

The city of Westminster will use the grant to continue support for the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force (OCHTTF) in its mission to address the gaps in services in identifying and rescuing trafficking victims and proactively investigate trafficking cases. Funding for this project will support the county's ability to build its capacity by increasing the number of law enforcement investigators focusing on the crime of human trafficking, strategically distributing the law enforcement human trafficking expertise in the county, and addressing the current gaps in services to victims by building a specialization in identification, rescue, and victim services to international trafficking victims. The goal of this grant is to provide sufficient investigations expertise and personnel at the Westminster Police Department to continue to investigate domestic and foreign national cases of human trafficking, with an emphasis on using the Internet to find victims who are under 18 years of age.
