The Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program is designed to assist states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments in developing and establishing drug courts for substance-abusing adult and juvenile offenders. Drug court programs funded by the Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program are required by law to target nonviolent offenders. The program supports the following activities: adult drug court implementation, single jurisdiction drug court implementation, statewide drug court enhancement, and planning efforts.

The Missouri Office of State Courts Administrator will use the statewide drug court grant to incorporate findings of recent methamphetamine studies and other state and national studies into a training curriculum of evidence-based practices for adult drug court team members. This grant will also focus on the development of a best practices guide for adult drug courts that will serve as the core of a multidisciplinary training curriculum. The curriculum will be used to train 250 adult drug court team members in five different regional training locations around Missouri.
