National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS)

The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) will continue to operate, maintain and enhance the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), consistent with the Anti Car Theft Act of 1992, as directed by the DOJ. The project's main goal is the implementation of a fully operational, self-sustainable system consistent with the NMVTIS statute. AAMVA will continue the exploration of appropriate alternative revenue-generating opportunities and enhancement of the technological capabilities of the system to increase flexibility and provide the most cost-effective economic model for current and future reporting entities, data providers, and NMVTIS users.
