The Council of State Governments Justice Center will provide training and technical assistance (TTA) to FY 2009 grantees of BJA's Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMHCP). The Justice Center will implement strategies to enhance the effectiveness and the national impact of JMHCP and thereby improve outcomes for people with mental illness involved in the criminal justice system. They will help grantees identify appropriate target populations, select effective interventions, address information sharing hurdles, and devise realistic sustainability strategies, primarily through onsite visits. In addition, resources will go toward engaging expert consultants in the delivery of technical assistance, distance learning opportunities, and supporting national/federal partners.
