Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $657,000)

The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) will provide the delivery of six Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Anti-Gang Training Conferences. The goal of the PSN Anti-Gang Training is to improve the level of knowledge, communication, and collaboration among criminal justice and community organizations for addressing criminal gang issues that affect communities throughout the nation. This goal will be accomplished through the delivery of PSN Anti-Gang Training to federal, state, and local law enforcement professionals and to gang intervention and prevention professionals. The training will be augmented through facilitated discussions with agency executives and community stakeholders committed to anti-gang initiatives. IIR will utilize an existing infrastructure, including staffing, anti-gang expertise, established criminal justice and intelligence networks, and proven protocols to deliver program services.
