Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $800,000)
The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) will provide subject-matter expertise and substantive assistance to BJA, the Program Manager for the Implementation of the Information Sharing Environment (PM-ISE), and the Privacy, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties subcommittee. They will support ongoing development and implementation of ISE privacy policy in to federal agencies, state and urban area fusion centers, Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative, non-federal entities to include the private sector, and website users. IIR will provide ISE Privacy subject-matter expertise and related assistance to the PM-ISE; assist designated state and local Fusion Centers develop and implement ISE Privacy Policies; further the development of Privacy Policies under the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative; provide substantive and administrative support for the implementation of the ISE Privacy Guidelines; and provide ongoing substantive development and population of the PM-ISE privacy web site.
