Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $550,000)
The Partnership for a Drug-Free America will expand and enhance the scope and effectiveness of the PACT360 community education program. PACT360 is a unique, law enforcement-led community education program that harnesses the knowledge and experience of critical resources within communities to help parents and caring adults realize their importance in preventing adolescent alcohol and other drug (AOD) use. Specifically, PACT360 educates parents and communities about adolescent AOD use, presents research-based parenting practices that improve parental involvement and decreases adolescent AOD use, and, by bringing together law enforcement, treatment, and prevention professionals, connects parents and communities to local resources.
