Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $697,962)
The Pretrial Justice Institute (PJI) will conduct trainings for pretrial practitioners, judges, prosecutors, defenders, and county executives; provide high-quality technical assistance; and perform an accurate analysis of local jail populations. They will provide training on bail issues and pretrial release; provide on-site and off-site technical assistance to jurisdictions struggling to implement evidence-based practice at the pretrial stage; produce a publication on pretrial justice policies and practices; develop on-line training curricula on pretrial programming; maintain a pretrial online resources center and; conduct follow up activities to the Attorney General's National Symposium on Pretrial Justice.
