Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $600,000)
The Georgia Tech Applied Research Corporation will further advance technology solutions related to federated identity, privilege management, and technical privacy protection - specifically related to the Global Federated Identity and Privilege Management (GFIPM) and National Information Exchange Federation (NIEF) programs. They will bridge trusted identity frameworks across the major Sensitive-But-Unclassified (SBU) networks to support interoperability and single sign-on capabilities. The Georgia Tech Applied Research Corporation will also further advance the development, testing, and ultimate federal, state, local, and tribal adoption of GFIPM; implement, manage, and broaden representation of the National Information Exchange Federation; and to work with federal partners in the harmonization of other security and privacy frameworks.
